When our clients approached us about a new kitchen in their gorgeous 200 year old house, we understood that the design of the new kitchen needed to be both complimentary and sympathetic towards the age of the property.
After some discussion, the client chose the lovely Milbourne Alabaster range with its chunky look; subtle timber grain and rustic cottage feel which exudes a classic ‘shaker’ styling. The client also requested a bespoke dresser which was tailor-made in Milbourne stone which works perfectly in the space to the edge of the door.
The kitchen was completely gutted with all walling re-skinned and tiled. The height of the individual wall units were adapted to take into account the ceiling height and the wooden ceiling beams. To ensure adequate storage space, we fitted a ‘Blum Space Tower’ – the new, innovative pull put larder unit. We integrated the fridge / freezer and the cooker hood was directed through the ceiling and to an outside wall. All draws were fitted with anti-slip bottoms and the chosen worktop is a high quality laminated natural block walnut – hard wearing, attractive and extremely practical – looks superb and so easy to maintain.
The end result? A delighted client with an attractive, timeless kitchen that has added something special to their lovely property.
